The furnishings inside of the house are similar to those that would have been used when Louis was a little boy. The life-size model of Louis as a young boy is holding a board with tacks pounded into it in the shapes of letters. Louis’ father made such a board. With it he taught Louis the alphabet by showing him how to feel the outlines made by the tacks.
