Braille Alphabet

Here is the braille alphabet. The large dots represent raised dots. The small dots are to help you identify the position of the raised dots within the cell. Of course, the small dots do not show in real braille.

In braille, combining different braille cells creates capital letters, punctuation, numbers and even special symbols for music and advanced math.

The images in this chart were made with a computer font that simulates braille. When experimenting with a braille font you’ll notice that the lower case letters on a computer keyboard correspond to the lower case letters in this chart.
