Programs

The Louis Braille School offers a ten-month academic school year program and a separate, two-week Summer day camp.

Our holistic approach includes instruction in traditional academic subjects, guidance in emotional and social growth, and help in mastering the skills of daily living that foster independence. Students learn how to confidently move about in their environment using a white cane. These skills are integrated into every activity of the day.

Equipment

Materials and equipment such as books, work sheets, games, puzzles, maps, computers and PE activities are adapted so they are meaningful to students with challenges. Adaptations are unique to each child’s challenges and allow the children to fully participate as a group.

The Louis Braille School offers students a caring, supportive environment, with innovative teaching approaches and special tools and equipment. As students discover how much fun learning can be, they are motivated by their own enthusiasm.
