When I first arrived in Washington State back in 1975, I was very drawn to Edmonds. It took a few years, 1997 to be exact, before I became a resident. Having the good fortune to be associated with the Louis Braille School has made it a complete circle. I now find myself in the wonderful position of telling others that my present “job” is something I would look forward to doing whatever it would be called. It is all the more heartwarming because of all the fabulous folks who help us. As the school outreach and support administrator, I have the privilege of sharing information about our school with individuals, businesses, and groups. Perhaps I have already visited with you!
I really enjoy getting out and spending my time talking about our special place in our wonderful community of Edmonds. It has been a very busy and challenging process to this point, but we look forward to opening in time for spring quarter.
One of my “jobs” is to connect with blind or visually impaired individuals who are willing to share the story about their work in our “Jobs People Do” column that will appear in future newsletters. If you are such a person, or know someone, please contact me.
If you have questions or would like more information about the school, please call or email me.
I look forward to meeting you in the near future! And wishes for a wonderful new year for us all!
