Highlights
Presentation of Louis Braille School Distinguished Service Award
Vern Percival, founder and leader of The Huckabillys, a local country music band, received the 5th annual Louis Braille School Distinguished Service Award. The words on the certificate Vern received stated:
“It is a joy to welcome you and your guitar to our classroom every Tuesday afternoon. The music program you are developing for our school has captivated us all. Thank you for bringing a song to our hearts, balance to our lives, and joy to our souls.”

Students Perform with The Huckabillys
Louis Braille School students joined The Huckabillys to play country music during the auction: Jordan, vocals; Alan, accordion, and Brett, banjo.
Guide Dog for the Blind Puppies
Among the guests were Guide Dogs for the Blind puppies in training and their trainers.

Centerpieces
Young visitors to Everett’s Imagine Children’s Museum made cowboy hats of used braille paper for the guest table centerpieces. The center of each hat was a recepticle in which guests placed monetary donations.
