“Seeing” Christmas

In December of 2007, KIRO Radio reporter Heather Bosch visited the Louis Braille School. She was doing a piece on how people who are blind, especially children, experience Christmas.

We thought you might like to listen to it this Christmas season. The voices you hear are those of Louis Braille School staff Becky and Janie and student Tristan.

True seeing is done with the heart.

So get out the glue pots, construction paper and sparkles and help your children participate fully in the special events and celebrations, big and little, that happen during the year.

A “special needs” child will require extra guidance and time, but your heart will swell with joy when he or she proudly proclaims,

“I made it myself!”
