Beginning in Janary of 2011, the Edmonds Senior Center will offer Spark in the Dark, a support group for adults who are struggling with vision loss. The one-hour sessions, taught by Carolyn Meyer, director of the Louis Braille School, will provide practial, hands-on guidance for adults dealing with sudden or gradual vision loss.
Subjects covered may include marking/labeling appliances and containers for easy use, arranging kitchen cupboards, accessing the newspaper with your telephone, talking books, cooking, resources, transportation, support groups, and other topics suggested by Spark members.
All are welcome. You do not need to be a member of the Edmonds Senior Center to attend.
Spark in the Dark will meet on the 2nd Monday of each month from 1 to 2 pm at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds,WA 98020.
The first meeting will be Monday, January 10, 2011.
